“VERSOS JONDOS”

Deze voorstelling is een aanpassing aan Flamenco van een selectie van gedichten geschreven door Juan Ramón Jimenez, Federico García Lorca, Miguel de Cervantes, Rafael Alberti, Jose Bergamin, Fernando Pessoa, Salvador Rueda, Antonio Machado en Manuel Machado.
Vicente Soto "Sordera" heeft deze teksten die vreugde, liefde, verdriet, dood, enz. weerspiegelen gescoord. Om dit te bereiken, brengt hij tien verschillende flamenco stijlen, van de schokkende Seguiriyas tot de vrolijke en feestelijke Bulerías.
De gedichten zijn aangepast aan de metriek van elke Flamenco stijl door schrijver Pedro Atienza.

VICENTE SOTO "SORDERA" 's BIO
Als kind combineerde hij zijn gitaarstudies met een bijna vanzelfsprekende toewijding aan zang (gezien zijn familie). Als tiener koos hij dan definitief voor de zang.
Vanaf dan was hij actief in verschillende tablaos in Madrid. Hij deed beroepservaring op door op tournée te gaan met ondermeer Antonio Gades, La Chunga of Manuela Vargas.
Hij stond op belangrijke podia als het Scala van Milaan, Théâtre de la Nation in Parijs, Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires of Teatro Communale in Rome. Hij toerde solo in de VS en Canada.
In 1984 verbleef hij een tijdje in Japan. In 1985 kwam hij terug naar Parijs met de voorstelling "Flamenco Puro".
In 1986 toerde hij in Spanje en Portugal met de voorstelling "Pessoa Flamenco". De première vond plaats in het Teatro Español in Madrid en in het Teatro Sao Luiz in Lissabon.
De voorstelling "Cantata Flamenca : Las horas muertas" van Jose Bergamin ging in première in het Teatro Albéniz in Madrid en op de Biënnale van Sevilla.
"La Casa de los Sordera" ging in première in 1998 in het Teatro Central van Sevilla en in het Centro Cultural de la Villa in Madrid.
Op 24 april 1999, met als aanleiding de toekenning van de Premio Cervantes aan dichter Jose Hierro, ging in het Teatro Cervantes in Alcala de Henares de voorstelling "El Hierro de Vicente Soto" in première.
"Entre dos mundos" een voorstelling die Flamenco samenbrengt met latinomuziek, met teksten van Spaanse en van Zuidamerikaanse dichters als Ruben Dário, Jose Marti, Miguel Unamuno, Alfonso Reyes of Valle Inclán, ging in première in het Casa America in Madrid en later ook in Guadalajara (Mexico).
In 2003 bracht hij "Rutas Jondas : Sevilla, Cádiz, Jerez…" : een muzikale reis langsheen de drie meest prominente Flamencosteden.
Van Vicente Soto"Sordera" zijn 11 CD's verschenen en hij is laureaat van de belangrijkste onderscheidingen in de Flamencowereld als (Premio Nacional de Córdoba, Premio Pastora Pavón, Premio Mairena del Alcor).
Hij was op de belangrijkste Flamencofestivals in Spanje en Frankrijk en in theaters en festivals in Duitsland, Italië, USA, Japan, Australië, de Filipijnen, Canada, Portugal, Argentinië, Mexico, Nederland, België,…
In 2005 verschijnt de CD "Estar Alegre" en gaat "El Quijote Cantante y Sonante" in première.
In 2007 is er "Voces Jondas del Exilio" en verschijnt ook de film met zijn levensverhaal "Cantaor" , geproduceerd door Tharsis Films.
In 2010 brengt hij "Versos Navegables" en komt zijn nieuwe CD uit. Een co-productie met
Diego Carrasco en met de medewerking van Moraito, Navajita Plateá, Diego del Morao e.a.
In 2012 releaste Vicente Soto "Colores Distintos".
