Jose Galván, Israel Galván, Pastora Galván: three different personalities and styles, two generations, one family.
Without a doubt, the Galván family is the most famous sevillan dynasty in the world of flamenco dancing. From their early childhood years, both dancers were educated by their father Jose, but mother Eugenia de los Reyes has also been referred to by Pastora as a crucial factor in her training.
Meanwhile, Pastora herself is already teaching at her father’s dancing academy.
Pastora Galván de los Reyes from Sevilla is already a well-known name in the world of flamenco dancing. She has clearly passed the phase of promising young talent and has evolved towards a professional and highly spirited dancer with a very personal contribution to her music.
Although she is a huge fan of her brother Israel’s modern style, she has developed her very own, unique personality and style, which is completely detached from her brother’s work.
Pastora’s finest trophy is her “Premio Nacional Matilde Coral”, which she won at the Córdoba contest of 2002.
For shows such as “Transformacion”, “Mira” and “Galvánica”, she has yet been sharing the stage with her family. Meanwhile however, she also has her own dancing company, with a.o. husband and flamenco singer Jose Anillo, with whom she went touring in France, Finland, the U.S. and Japan.
Pastora Galván now is coming to northern Europe as well, for the first time with her own Compañia. An occasion which no true lover of the best flamenco dancing should miss. |
