“Oloroso Viejo” is a flamenco company that originated from the gipsy quarters in Jerez de la Frontera, where flamenco music has been given on from one generation to the next for many centuries.
No music schools nor conservatories: the flamenco knowledge picked up from family and at spontaneous parties amongst friends and in the streets are still the core basics for every artist.
“Oloroso Viejo” is flamenco of the 21st century, performed by the newest generation of professional artists. They present a timeless form of flamenco, which is at the time upright and spontaneous.
The principal role in “Oloroso Viejo” is performed by Saray Garcia, who stems from a family with a thorough and ancient flamenco tradition.
Her dancing style reflects an upright personality with an extraordinary energy and sensitivity.
