Miguel Angel Heredia (1985, Jerez de la Frontera) is a descendant of the rich Jerezian school of flamenco.
Encouraged by his own gipsy family and certainly also by the many professional flamenco artists from his neighbourhood, he has been intensly occupied with flamenco music from his childhood onwards. The trajectory of his training so far is highly impressive. He took classes with artists such as Manuela Carpio, Angelita Gomez, El Guito, Alejandro Granados, Joaquin Grílo, La Chiqui de Jerez, Antonio El Pipa,…
Every week, he performs in one of Jerez de la Frontera’s numerous flamenco peñas. He also danced in the “Bodas de Sangre” show, an adaptation of the Teatro Dionisio de Jerez. Furthermore, he has also become a member of flamenco pianist Reina Gitana’s ensemble, with which he toured in the whole of Spain.
Miguel Angel Heredia recently also had the honour and the pleasure to be able to perform for the Spanish princesses Doña Pilar y Elena de Bourbón.
During his first performances in the Benelux, such as the Gipsyfestival Tilburg 2005, he was very warmly applauded by the public. This also got him a positive review with picture in het Brabants Dagblad .
All the more reason to invite him once again for a series of concerts in the North.
In fact, he came along with the company of singer Felipa del Moreno in the month of May. At the moment, he is again collaborating with her in the ensemble
Aire Gitano . Next to Miguel Angel Heredia and Felipa del Moreno, guitar player Manuel Valencia (accompanist of e.g. Fernando Terremoto) is also part of this company.
This company of young Jerezian gipsies perfectly illustrates the unique aroma of their home town’s flamenco.
An Aire Gitano performance guarantees a sizzling and exciting spectacle, with a definite authentical character.
